Pendleton High School Renovation

Anderson, South Carolina / Renovation

Project Overview

The Pendleton High School renovation project included a new covered front entrance, renovated administration offices, and renovated cafeteria.

An enclosed front lobby made it possible for the front desk staff to clearly see any visitors before allowing them through the locked doors.

The most dynamic change to the school was in the cafeteria.  Our design removed the suspended ceiling in the cafeteria and added new clerestory windows, filling the previously cave like space with abundant amounts of natural light.

My Role: Primary Intern Architect

I was involved with this project from the initial RFQ proposal through the final punchlist under the supervision of the Project Architect.

I spearheaded the Schematic Design and the development of Contract Documents with minimal supervision.

During construction I had a variety of CA responsibilities including:   attending on site coordination meetings, conducting construction observation, reviewing shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent, and reviewing results from field reports, third-party inspections, and other test results for conformance with contract documents.
